Go ahead and say it, “Michael Jordan makes all of his money off of his high priced sneakers that have people murdering each other”. Although that is very sad, that is also very untrue. MJ has his hands in more than just one pot of gold.
According to Forbes magazine, Michael Jordan has just entered the ‘Billionaire Boys Club’ as he just made the cut for the first time with an estimated net worth of $1 billion. The magazine also places his new entrance into the Billionaires inner circle as the 1,741st richest person in the world.
It is under the assumption that Jordan grosses more than $100 million a year off royalties from his Nike Air Jordan line. To add to his net worth, in March of 2010, he purchased the Charlotte Bobcats, now Hornets, as 80% owner for $275 million that as of 2015 have an estimated worth of $700 million.
Michael Jordan is no longer only known as the best to ever play the game of basketball, but is now also known as the richest NBA player, current or former, in history.
