After the Houston Rockets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by two points on Sunday, fans declared James Harden as “the new King James”. The MVP frontrunner has been on a tear as of late becoming the franchise player of the Houston Rockets organization. Unfortunately for Harden, despite the accomplishments the far, there is bad news ahead.
According to the NBA, it was announced on Monday that Harden has been suspended one game for kicking James in the groin with 2:08 remaining in the third quarter. During the game Harden was issued a flagrant-1 foul for the kick, but after further review that has since been changed to a flagrant-2. The NBA does its best to protect its most popular players, which undoubtedly includes Lebron James.
Harden will miss Tuesday’s game with Atlanta which is another blow to the Rockets, who are already playing without star center Dwight Howard, who has been resting a problematic right knee.
