Lady Antebellum changed their name to Lady A. Come to find out there is another Lady A on the scene who has had the name for over thirty years who does Blues music, while the band Lady A does Country. The group changed their name after speaking with their black friends on the meaning of their name. It is offensive. Since antebellum deals with pre-civil war and the toxic thoughts and mannerisms that was centered around slavery, the name had to change. In light of recent protests. This month Lady Antebellum sued Lady A since they do not want to share the name according to CNN.
In an interview with Fox News, Lady A said the group members are bullying and intimidating her with their wealth. They are using her love for God to convince her to give up her rights but she was on the music scene first.
