Tier 400: The Future of Sportswear

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Growing up I was surrounded by a talented family of athletes ( track and field). The Turner family that help set Jamaica on the map. My mother along with the 3 sister Evette, Inez and Janet went on to set world records. So it was in my DNA to always move. Throughout my school years I managed to keep the touch going until my final year in high school during a cross country race I badly damaged my ACL. I kept going even though I tore my ACL because I was the only one going to the state championship that year. Throughout every practice and track meet it got worse. To make a long story short, I ruined my chances of competing in college. I started to go to a community College where I had decided that I didn’t want any other athlete to go through what I went through and I started to study physical therapy. But life happened, where it was put on the back burner. Fast forward to 2014 me and my best friend started to go to the gym every day for 6 to 10 hours a day. We loved it so much we became personal trainers with a hand full of clients.  We had an idea to create a t-shirt to set us apart and from then the clothing line has changed and improved.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family period. They are my rock. My mom, dad, uncles, auntie, wife, etc. Everyone of my family,  I have redefined my apparel countless of times and they have supported me.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

When I just started out, I met this guy who used to get me into VIP parties with upcoming actors and artist. One time I met this football player we were talking and I asked him if he could take a picture in my clothing he said yes but I didn’t have anything on me so we exchanged numbers and rescheduled everyday we spoke but he was always busy and always moving. Another time I went to a Instagram and Vine party where I saw a lot of famous people and again I never had my apparel with me just a card. So from that day on I always keep at least 5 apparels in my car because you never know.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out?

Don’t try to do everything at once. And never look at another person’s success or work and think it’s that easy. Learn and be educated in all areas of the business.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Absolutely I have partnered up with a few small charities to feed and spread awareness. I have helped a countless number of people to get back in shape and teach them the importance of loving their bodies. By building relations, helping partners and athletes and ambassadors level up, because there’s so much room at the top.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

The life lesson I learned to  live by is to never give up no matter how hard it gets keep going. You will see results trust the process. For example a lot of these “celebrities” started from somewhere. You just have to grind, make up your mind and just give it your all. I decided to quit my job, it wasn’t easy but I knew what I love and what I rather be doing every morning I wake up. I wake up for this, excited everyday.
